Freeballing, also referred to as "going commando" (a less gender specific term), is a mode of dress without underwear. It can be done by both males and females alike and offers a natural, unhampered area for genitals.

In the end, it seems to all come down to personal preference. Some people question wether or not underwear is necessary.. Some claim discomfort, decreased circulation, and even infirtility (see below) due to wearing underwear. Some view freeballing as being sexually promiscuous. Everybody seems to have their own take on the subject.

Some people claim wearing briefs and other tight underwear will hinder fertility; This is not true. A survey showed no correlation between scrotal temperature, underwear style, and fertility. (Source: thirdage, inc. a media/news site for boomers)
